With 24 hours' notice and a mere $400, you and a hungry pack of your closest friends, relatives, and/or neighbors can sit down to the world-record-breaking "Absolutely Ridiculous Burger" at Mallie's Sports Bar in small-town Michigan. The 134-pound burger (post-cooking weight), topped with cheese, bacon, and all the fixings, is housed in a giant 50-pound bun and measures two feet in diameter. The record-breaker joins the ranks of Mallie's other big burgers, which weigh in at 12, 6, and 1/2 pounds.

To date, only a few parties have been brave enough to order this gigantic ground-beef creation. Recently, a group of thirty journalists gave it a shot, but according to Mallie's manager, Lisa, they barely made a dent in the "very tasty" burger.

Mallie's Sports Grill & Bar in Michigan is going for the gold in the Guinness World Records biggest burger category. After 22 hours of cooking time

AHMEDABAD based Restaurant (Sankalp Chain Of Restaurants) – who already holds the Guinness Record for making 30 ft 5 inches long dosa in February 2006, broke their own record by preparing 32.5 ft long Dosa in less than 40 minutes on 19th August 2009.

The Dosa was named after "Quick Gun Murugun", an upcoming movie that highlights the merits of vegetarianism.

A team of 16 chefs and eight helpers practiced for the past 10 days to get the correct length. It required proper coordination among the men for spreading the batter across the hot plate simultaneously," one of the chefs Swami Goda.

Another member of the team, Sajjan Singh, said it was difficult to handle the dosa on a 35-feet-long hot plate (tawa) and to maintain a steady temperature across the length.

Sankalp restaurant first entered the Guinness Book of Records in March 1997 by making a 25-feet-long dosa.

Restaurant claims to have made world's longest dosa. People carry a 32 feet (9.75m) long dosa, a south Indian crepe made for the promotion of the upcomingmovie "Quick Gun Murugan".

Chinese and Costa Rican chefs cook the world´s largest fried rice in celebration of Chinese New Year

SAN JOSE (AFP) - Members of Costa Rica's Chinese community celebrated the arrival of the Year of the Snake by setting the world record on Tuesday for the largest amount of fried rice ever cooked. Briton Ralph Hannah, an inspector with the Guinness World Records, certified the win after putting the giant meal - enough to feed some 7,000 people - on a scale. The official weight: 837kg, which nearly doubles the previous record.
