Sabarmati River Front

Just look at this. Amazing. No wonder Modi so popular !!
Dear Friends,

For those who want to enjoy water-sports, adventure and leisurely walks in the evening, here is some good news. The Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Narendra Modi has inaugurated water-sports activities and a walkway on the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad.

The water sports and walk way are set up as a part of the "Sabarmati Riverfront Project". The walkway at the riverfront was thrown open to the public by Chief Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on August 15, 2012.

This beautifully designed walkway is 7 km long on the western side of the river and 6 km long on the eastern side of the river.

Even though the location of this wonderful project is Ahmedabad, the walkway is dedicated to the whole of India, as it is the first such project initiated in entire India.  The BJP Govt. in Goa has also declared the same kind of project on Mandovi River, Panjim in the near future.  If it really happens in Goa, people from Goa will be the second luckiest citizens in India who will enjoy the pleasure of a beautiful and huge walkway on the scenic, crystalline and ever-flowing Mandovi river....Let's keep the fingers crossed and hope for the best....!!!!
Enjoy the eye-pleasing snaps of this prestigious project at Ahmedabad.
This grand and successful beautification in our own land called Gujarat, proves that there is no poverty in our country.  The root cause is the Ruler's poor mentality...!!!

Even as the World needs lakhs of quality teachers, Gujarat has initiated several action plans to fulfill the requirement.
The 21st Century is dubbed as the 'Century of Knowledge' and only India could lead the World in teaching as a duty to the society, character building and how to respect parents, guru and others.
India has a rich culture and has been blessed with such illustrious teachers like Chanakya. If we have to make the 21st Century a 'Century of India', we have to take a lead in providing gurus to the world, make India the 'Vishwa Guru'.

Klong
is the general
name for a canal in the central plain of Thailand. These canals are spawned by
the Chao Phraya, the Tha Chin, the Mae Klong Rivers and their tributaries.

The Thai word
klong is not limited to artificial canals; also many smaller rivers
are referred
to as klong followed by the name of the stream.

Bridge
Kwai
During World
War 2, the Japanese used Allied prisoners of war to build a railway from
Thailand to Burma so they could supply their army without the dangers
of sending
supplies by sea. Many prisoners died under appalling conditions during its
construction, and the line became known as the 'Death Railway'. It was
immortalised in David Lean's 1957 film 'The Bridge on the River Kwai' which
centres around one of the line's main engineering feats, the bridge across the
Kwae Yai river just north of Kanchanburi. Although the film was shot in
Sri Lanka, the Bridge on the River Kwai really exists, and still
carries regular
passenger trains from Bangkok as far as Nam Tok.

Subject: Dussehra Greetings
To: Amit Vaghela <amit_vaghela16@yahoo.com>

Dussehra or Dasha-Hara is the festival of Victory of Good over Evil. Buses,
trucks
and machines in factories are decorated. Dasha-Hara is also
Vishwakarma Divas - the National Labor Day of India. Veda Vyasa is
considered the foremost guru and Vijayadashami is also celebrated as
Vyasa puja.

On this day in the Treta Yug, Rama, also called Shri Ram, the seventh
incarnation of Vishnu, killed the great demon Ravana who had abducted
Rama's wife Sita to his kingdom of Lanka. Rama, his brother Lakshman,
their follower Hanuman and an army of monkeys fought a great battle to
rescue Sita. The entire narrative is recorded in the epic Ramayana, a
Hindu scripture.

To commemorate the defeat of Ravana and the victory of good over evil,
people started celebrating 'Dush-hara' (the defeat of Dashakanta –
Ravana).

Ravan was a very intelligent character in Ramayan. If people viewed him as
having ten heads it does not mean ten head mounted on single neck and

having twenty eyes. Ravan was master of so many vidhas of life during
that time

for normal person it was impossible to believe that a normal person can
master so many things and that is why it is said that he must be having
ten heads.

In the evening of Dasara, Ravana Vadh is ceebrated throughout India.
Large effigies of Ravana and some of his kin are burned. For this
vadha ritual, crackers
are used.

About
20 days later comes the grand festival of Diwali or Deepavali, which
commemorates the triumphant return of Lord Ram, His wife Sita and His
brother Lakhsman from 14 year of exile during which They defeated Ravan.
