Jai Shri Krishna,

Maa (mother) is the incarnation of God's affection. A philosopher has very well said that God created mother because he was unable to reach everywhere. A poet named Botadakar has sung a beautiful poem on the importance of a mother.

Mitha madhu ne mitha mehula re lol,
ethi mithi re mori maat re, janni ni jod sakhi nahi jade re lol.

This means, honey is sweet and so is rain but a mother is sweeter, where would you get anything like a mother's love?

Prabhu na e prem tani putri re lol,
Jagthi juderi eni jaat re, jannni ni jod sakhi nahi jade re lol

Mother is the idol of God's love, she is different and unique from anything in this world.

Varse ghadik vyom vaadri re lol,
Pan maadina megh baare maas re, jannni ni jod sakhi nahi jade re lol

The poet continues to say that how do I compare a mother? Does her affection continue to shower like rain from a cloud? No, a cloud will rain for a few days especially during the rainy season, and then clear from the sky. However, a mother's love has no season, her love is showered all year round.

Furthermore, Savitaben has an age, Maa Poojaben has an age but the word mother has no age, it is filled with motherly love. There is no difference in a mother's love when she 25 years of age or when she is 75 years old and her child is an adult.

The memory of the love of Maa Yashoda would not let the lord of Dwarka sleep in his palace at night. Shri Krishna would cry in her memory. When Shri Rukminiji would make Shri Krishna's bed the next morning, she would find the pillow wet and understand that my Lord has not slept all night. Shri Krishna missed the thouing by Maa Yashoda whereas in Dwarka he wasonly called with respect.
Nobody is an orphan in this world because the master of all is God. However, God has no parents; this is why when God wants a mother's love, he looks for a mother to be born from in this world. He looks for a Kaushalya or a Yashoda. It is also seen that whenever God has incarnated from a mother he is worshipped and praised with greater esteem than when he has incarnated without a mother. For instance, we see more temple of Shri Ram and Shri Krishna then we do of Varah Bhagavan or Narsimha Bhagavan.

Even God was bound by the love of his divine mother. The importance of Maa is extraordinary such that even God wants to play in her laps as a child and experience her divine love. Maa is the one word poem with such a high esteem and character!

મેડિકલ સર્વિસને સર્વિસ ટેક્સની માફી

આવશ્યક લાયકાત ધરાવતા વૈદ્યોની સેવાને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સમાંથી મુક્તિ

ધનસુખ એચ. શાહ (લેખક સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ અંગેના વરિષ્ઠ સલાહકાર છે.)

ફાઈનાન્સ એક્ટ ૨૦૧૨ અન્વયે સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ કાયદામાં આમૂલાગ્ર ફેરફાર કર્યો છે. આ કોઈ પણ પ્રકારની સર્વિસ આપનારા મુક્તિવાદ અને કાનૂની દાવપેચ લડાવીને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવામાંથી છટકી શકશે નહીં. સર્વિસ આપીને કમાણી કરનારા વર્ષમાં રૂ. દસ લાખથી વધુ આવક રળતા હશે તેઓએ સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવો જ પડશે. નેગેટિવ લિસ્ટમાં જે સર્વિસનો સમાવેશ અથવા મેગા એક્ઝમ્પશન નોટિ.માં જે સર્વિસનો સમાવેશ થયો
હશે તેવા સર્વિસપ્રદાતા જ સર્વિસ-ટેક્સના જાળામાંથી બહાર રહેશે. રૂ. દસ લાખની આવક એ ગ્રોસ-ઈન્કમ ગણવાની છે. સર્વિસ-ટેક્સમાં ખર્ચા બાદ મળતા નથી. આજના લેખમાં 'હેલ્થ-કેર સર્વિસ' અંગે વિચાર કરીશું. નોટિ. નંબર ૨૫/૨૦૧૨ એસ.ટી. તા. ૨૦-૬-૨૦૧૨ હેઠળ એન્ટ્રી નંબર ૨ અનુસાર 'હેલ્થ કેર સર્વિસ'ને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સના ભારણથી સંપૂર્ણપણે મુક્ત રાખવામાં આવી છે.

'હેલ્થ-કેર સર્વિસ' નીચેના ત્રણ વ્યાવસાયિક ક્ષેત્રમાં આપી હશે તો સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવો પડશે નહીં. ક્લિનિકલ એસ્ટાબ્લિશમેન્ટમાં, ઓથોરાઈઝ્ડ મેડિકલ પ્રેક્ટિશનર દ્વારા અને ત્રણ પેરામેડિક ફિલ્ડમાં. જે મેડિકલ પ્રેક્ટિશનર માન્યતા-પ્રાપ્ત અને કાયદા દ્વારા પ્રસ્થાપિત મેડિકલ કાઉન્સિલનો રજિસ્ટર્ડ થયેલ ડૉક્ટર હશે તો તે ડૉક્ટરને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવો પડશે નહીં. કાયદા દ્વારા
માન્યતા પ્રાપ્ત રેકોગ્નાઈઝડ સિસ્ટમ ઓફ મેડિસિન અનુસાર પ્રેક્ટિશ કરવા અંગેનું આવશ્યક કવોલિફિકેશન ધરાવનાર ડૉક્ટરને જ સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવામાંથી માફી છે. ફકત રજિસ્ટર્ડ મેડિકલ પ્રેક્ટિશનરને જ સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવામાંથી માફી આપવામાં આવી છે એવું નથી. અનરજિસ્ટર્ડ મેડિકલ પ્રેક્ટિશનર પણ આવશ્યક ક્વોલિફિકેશન ધરાવતો હશે તો સર્વિસ-ટેક્સમાંથી મુક્તિ મેળવવાને પાત્ર છે. જોકે
ઊંટ-વૈદ્યોને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સમાંથી માફી નથી. ડૉક્ટરોની સેવા સાથે સંકળાયેલ પેરામેડિકસ પ્રોફેશનલ દ્વારા આપવામાં આવતી સેવા પણ સર્વિસ-ટેક્સના બોજાથી અલિપ્ત છે, અર્થાત્ નીચે જણાવેલ ચાર પ્રકારના પેરામેડિક્સ સર્વિસને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવામાંથી માફી છે. ચાર શ્રેણીમાં નર્સિંગ સ્ટાફ, ફિજિયોથેરેપિસ્ટ, ટેક્નિશિયન અને લેબ-આસિસ્ટંટસ. ઉપર મુજબના પેરોમેડિકસ્ પ્રોફેશનલ ક્લિનિકલ
એસ્ટાબ્લિશમેન્ટમાં ફ્રી-લાન્સ સેવા આપતા હશે અથવા નોકરી કરતા હશે તેઓને પોતાની સર્વિસ આપવા બદલ મળતા મહેનતાણા પર સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવો પડશે નહીં. જોકે હેલ્થ-કેર સર્વિસ'નું કાર્યક્ષેત્ર ડાયગ્નોસિસ, ટ્રીટમેન્ટ, માવજત. ત્રણ પ્રકારની સર્વિસ નીચે જણાવેલ પાંચ પ્રકારના કેસમાં (૧) માંદગી, (૨) ઈજા, (૩) વિકલાંગપણું, (૪) અસામાન્યપણું (૫) સુવાવડ ઉપર જણાવેલી પરિસ્થિતિમાં ડૉક્ટર કોઈ પણ
રેકોગ્નાઈઝડ્ સિસ્ટમ ઓફ મેડિસિન અનુસાર દર્દીની સારવાર કરે અને તે સારવાર કરવા બદલ ફી ચાર્જ કરશે તો તે ફીની રકમ પર સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવો પડશે નહીં. સામાન્ય સંજોગોમાં થતી હેર-પ્લાન્ટેશન તેમ જ કોસ્મેટિક અથવા પ્લાસ્ટિક સર્જરીને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ હેઠળ એકઝમ્પશન આપવામાં આવ્યું નથી. આમ છતાં શરીરના અવયવોનું પુનઃ સંધાણ કરવા માટે આવશ્યક એવી કોસ્મેટિક અગર પ્લાસ્ટિક સર્જરી કરવી પડે તો
તેવા સંજોગોમાં ડૉક્ટર વડે ચાર્જ થતી ફી પર સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવો પડશે નહીં.

ફિજિક્લ ફિટનેસ માટે અપાતી મેડિકલ સર્વિસ તેમ જ બોડી એન્ડ બ્યુટી-કેર માટે અપાતી મેડિકલ ટ્રીટમેન્ટ સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવાને પાત્ર છે અને તેવી સર્વિસ આપનારા ક્વોલિફાઈડ ડૉક્ટરની ડિગ્રી ધરાવતા હોય તેઓએ પણ સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવો પડશે. ફિજિકલ ફિટનેસ અને બોડી એન્ડ બ્યુટી કેરના ક્લિનિક ચલાવનારાની આવક કોઈ પણ સંજોગોમાં વાર્ષિક રૂ. દસ લાખથી વધુ જ હોવાની છે પરિણામે તેઓએ કોઈ એકઝમ્પશન
બેનિફિટ મેળવવા પણ પ્રયત્ન જરૂર નથી અને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવાનું ચાલુ કરી દેવું જોઈએ. હેલ્થ-કેર સર્વિસની વ્યાખ્યા વ્યાપક અને સર્વગ્રાહી છે. એલોપથી, યોગ, નેચરોપથી, આયુર્વેદ, હોમિયોપથી, સિદ્ધા અને યુનાની. આ સિવાય દર્દીને લાવવા- લઈ જવાની ટ્રાન્સ્પોર્ટેશન સર્વિસને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સમાંથી માફી આપવામાં આવી છે. હોસ્પિટલ દ્વારા અપાતા ભોજન તેમ જ બેડની સર્વિસને પણ સર્વિસ-ટેક્સમાંથી
બાકાત રાખવામાં આવેલ છે આ માટે હોસ્પિટલ દ્વારા અપાતા પેકેજને ધ્યાનમાં લેવામાં આવશે એટલે કે 'બન્ડલ્ડ સર્વિસ'ને હેલ્થ-કેર સર્વિસ ગણીને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સમાંથી માફી મળી શકે છે. દર્દીના એટેન્ડન્ટ માટેના બેડ-ચાર્જીસ વસૂલ કરતા હોય તેને પણ હેલ્થ-કેર સર્વિસમાં ગણીને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ લગાડવામાં આવશે નહીં. જાનવરોના હેલ્થ અંગેની અપાતી મેડિકલ-સર્વિસને ટેક્સના ભારણથી સંપૂર્ણપણે
મુક્ત રાખવામાં આવી છે. ચેરિટેબલ સંસ્થા દ્વારા જાહેર જનતાના આરોગ્યને લગતી હેલ્થ-કેર સર્વિસ આપવામાં આવશે તો તેવી સર્વિસને સર્વિસ-ટેક્સ ભરવો પડશે નહીં. હેલ્થ અંગેના જન-જાગૃતિના પ્રોગ્રામ પણ સર્વિસ-ટેક્સની માફીને પાત્ર છે.

An Indian man has
become the world's oldest father for the second time at the age of 96.
Ramjit Raghav was awarded the title two years ago when he had his first
born son Karamjit aged 94. Although he swore one was enough, the
pensioner and his wife Shakuntala, 54, welcomed another son Ranjit, last
month.

World's oldest: Ramjit Raghav holding his second baby Ranjit at the ripe old age of 96 Speaking at his home in the
state of Haryana, 31 miles from Delhi, Ramjit said: 'What can I do? This
is all God's wish. He wanted me to have another son.'

When Shakuntala gave birth to
the healthy boy earlier this month at the Government hospital in
Haryana, the doctors laughed when Ramjit said he was the father.
He
said: 'They just laughed but they were very surprised.' Ramjit, who
lives with his family in a studio apartment, has high hopes for his
sons.

Daddy duties: Ramjit Raghav, 96, with his wife
Shankuntala, 54, and sons Karamjit, 4, and newborn Ranjit, is excited to
have become a father again He said: 'I
have been a farmer all my life. But I want them to become high ranking
government workers. 'It's good that I have another son now. Even if one
of them dies, God forbid, I will have someone to carry on my family
name." Ramjit admits that as proud as he is of having two healthy sons
at his age, his neighbours are more jealous of his sex drive.

healthy and I enjoy sex with my wife. I think it's very important for a
husband and wife to have sex regularly and when she asks I will go on
all night but for the sake of my child I've put our needs aside for
now.' Father-of-two Ramjit claims that a daily diet of almonds, butter and milk kept him sexually active. He
said: 'I care for my wife and I give her everything she needs. She is a
very happy woman.' When Ramjit met second wife Shakuntala, he had been a
widower for 25 years. The pair met 22 years ago on a rainy morning at a
Muslim shrine, Ramjit asked her to come home with him and she has never
left. 'She didn't have any family or friends around, and I wanted to
help her,' he explains. 'I
took her under my wing and taught her some yoga and we fell in love.
Many of my past girlfriends had died so I had never married and then I
asked Shakuntala to be my wife.'

Shakuntala
believes she would have been dead by now if it was not for Ramjit's
caring ways. She said: 'It doesn't matter how old he is, I love him and I
care for him dearly even, though he shouts at me sometimes.'He
doesn't seem old to me, he can make love like any 25-year-old man, even
better.

Meet the Kulkarnis: India 's tallest family with a combined height of 26ft hope to set a new world record

Family is so tall they never use public transport and
ride scooters instead Sharad Kulkarni, 52, is 7ft 1.5ins tall and his
wife Sanjot, 46, is 6ft 2.6ins tall.

Their daughters are both over 6ft and want to be modelsThey
stand out wherever they go and now India 's tallest family is hoping to
set a new world record with their combined height. The Kulkarnis, from
the city of Pune in the west of the country, tower above their
countrymen. The family's combined height is a staggering 26ft.

Mr and Mrs Kulkarni were crowned India 's tallest
couple by their country's Limca Book of Records after they married in
1989. They had hoped to be named the world's tallest couple by the
Guinness Book of Records, until it emerged that Wayne and Laurie
Hallquist, from Stockton , California , stand a combined inch taller at
13ft 4ins.

Mr Kulkarni said: 'We were a little disheartened. It's nice to have
recognition when you live your life being so different. It ends up
meaning something. But we're excited about new prospects.'

Growing up, Mr and Mrs Kulkarni faced years of teasing and ridicule.
When Mr Kulkarni hit 7ft as a teenager he ploughed his energies into
sports and ended up playing basketball for his country. But Mrs Kulkarni
struggled to go unrecognised and fit in in the remote Indian village
where she lived. The pair began to accept early on in their teens that
marriage one day might be difficult.

Mrs Kulkarni said: 'It's hard for a woman to be taller than a man in
India . The man is the more authoritative role so I would never want to
marry a smaller man and then him be ridiculed about his wife.

'It was a big possibility that I'd never marry really.'

But Mrs Kulkarni's grandmother spotted Mr Kulkarni
walking down a street in Mumbai one evening and approached him. Mr
Kulkarni said: 'This older lady came up to me and asked if I was married
or single and would I meet her granddaughter who was over 6ft. 'I
didn't believe her at first so I refused but my friends persuaded me to
take her number.'

A few weeks later Mr Kulkarni's parents called the
number and a meeting was arranged for the potential couple, as is
traditional in India. Mr Kulkarni, who works at a bank, said: 'Many
women have claimed they're 6ft but then, when we meet they're only about
5ft 10ins and too small for me.

'But when I met Sanjot I was happy she was well over 6ft. I knew we'd be
happy together.'The couple married in December 1988. A year later Limca
Book of Records pronounced them India 's tallest married couple.

રમૂજની રમઝટએક ગુજરાતીએ ચીનમાં જઈને ચાની દુકાન ખોલી,

પરંતુ એને દુકાનનું નામ શું રાખવું એમાં ભારે સંઘર્ષ કરવો પડ્યો.

અંતે ચાઈનીઝ લોકોને સમજ પડે અને ગુજરાતીપણું પણ સચવાય એવું એણે નામ
રાખ્યું. એની દુકાનનું નામ એણે આ રીતે લખ્યું : 'Fuki-Fuki-ne-pee'

કારમાં બેઠેલી મેડમને ભિખારી : 'બહેનજી, ભગવાન કે નામ પે કુછ દે દો….'

મેડમ : 'મેં તને ક્યાંક જોયો છે….'ભિખારી : 'યસ મેડમ, ફેસબુક પર આપણે ફ્રેન્ડઝ છીએ….!'

ગાંધીજી એક નિર્દોષ માણસનો કેસ લડ્યા અને કોર્ટમાં જીતી ગયા. નિર્દોષ
માણસ બચી ગયો. પણ એણે ગાંધીજીને એક સવાલ કર્યો : 'ગાંધીબાપુ, આ તો સારું
હતું કે તમે હતા એટલે હું બચી ગયો. પણ તમે ના હો ત્યારે અમને કોણ બચાવશે ?'

ગાંધીજી બોલ્યા : 'મારા ફોટાવાળી નોટો….'

ડૉક્ટર : 'સાંભળો, તમારા ઑપરેશન પછી અમને ખબર પડી છે કે મારા હાથનું એક મોજું તમારા પેટમાં રહી ગયું છે.

સન્તા : 'કશો વાંધો નહિ ડૉક્ટર ! આ લો… 20 રૂપિયા. બજારમાંથી નવું ખરીદી લેજો !'

છોકરી : 'કાલે મારા પપ્પાએ મને તારી બાઈક પાછળ બેઠેલી જોઈ લીધી હતી.'

છોકરો : 'પછી શું થયું ?'

છોકરી : 'આજથી બસની ટિકિટના પૈસા બંધ ! મારું ફેમિલી બહુ કડક છે…..યુ નો… !'

નટુ : 'ભારતીય નારીઓ શા માટે વ્રત કરીને આવતા જન્મમાં એ જ પતિ મળે એવી પ્રાર્થના કરે છે ?'

ગટુ : 'અરે, આટલી મહેનત કરીને ટ્રેનિંગ આપી હોય, એ કંઈ નકામી થોડી જવા દેવાય ?'

પત્ની : 'જો, પેલા દારૂડીયાને જો.'

પતિ : 'એ કોણ છે ?'

પત્ની : 'દસ વરસ પહેલાં એણે મને લગ્ન માટે પ્રપોઝ કરેલું. પણ મેં ના પાડી હતી.'

પતિ : 'ઓ વાઉ ! તો એ માણસ હજી સેલિબ્રેટ કરી રહ્યો છે !'

કેરેલાના ઉચ્ચ ભણતરનો એક નમૂનો.

પોલીસે એક ભિખારીને રડતો જોઈને તેને અંગ્રેજીમાં પૂછ્યું : 'What is the matter ?'

ભિખારીએ અંગ્રેજીમાં પોતાની રીતે અભ્યાસપૂર્ણ જવાબ આપ્યો : 'Matter is anything that has mass and occupies space.'

'પાર્ટી માટે તમારી પત્ની કેમ તૈયાર થાય તો ગમે ?' એ વિષય પર પચ્ચીસ કે
એથી ઓછા શબ્દોમાં જવાબ લખી મોકલવાની એક હરીફાઈ યોજાઈ હતી. કાંતિકાકાને ઈનામ
મળ્યું. તેમણે જવાબમાં માત્ર એક જ શબ્દ લખ્યો હતો : 'જલદીથી…'

પત્ની : 'મારી નવી સાડી તમને કેવી લાગે છે ?'

પતિ : 'મારા આખા મહિનાના પગાર જેવી.'

એક મોટી ઉંમરની સ્ત્રી એક બ્યુટીક્લિનિકમાં ગઈ. એણે પૂછ્યું :

'આ મારી કરચલીઓ દૂર થશે ? આ ડાઘા જતા રહેશે ? મારો ચહેરો…..'

'હા, બધું થઈ જશે. પણ પાંચ હજાર રૂપિયા ખર્ચ થશે….'

'એટલા બધા ? કોઈ સસ્તો માર્ગ બતાવોને ?'

'લાજ કાઢવાનું શરૂ કરી દો !'

પત્ની : 'મેં સાંભળ્યું છે કે સ્વર્ગમાં આદમીને અપ્સરા મળે છે. તો અમને સ્ત્રીઓને શું મળતું હશે ?'

સંતા : 'અરે કુછ નહીં…. ભગવાન કેવલ દુખિયોં કો દેખતા હૈ !!'

કવિ : 'આ દુનિયામાં અંધેર ચાલે છે !'

મિત્ર : 'કેમ ?'

કવિ : 'જો બેંકર બોગસ કવિતા લખે તો કોઈ ગુનો બનતો નથી પણ કવિ ખોટો ચેક લખે તો ગુનો બને છે…!'

અમદાવાદની જેલની દીવાલો વધારે ઊંચી લેવાઈ.

અધિકારી : 'કેમ, કેદીઓ દીવાલ કૂદીને ભાગી જાય છે ?'

જેલર : 'ના રે સાહેબ, મફતિયા લોકો અંદર આવીને જમી જાય છે !'

છગને જાહેરાત આપી છાપામાં : અમને જણાવતાં ગર્વ થાય છે કે અમારા મોટા
ભાઈએ પાણીમાં શ્વાસ રોકીને 35 મિનિટ રહેવાનો વિશ્વરેકોર્ડ સ્થાપ્યો છે.
એમનું બેસણું ગુરુવારે રાખેલ છે !

છગનબાપુ : 'આપણાં લગ્નની 25મી તિથિની ઉજવણી માટે હું તમને આંદામાન-નિકોબાર લઈ જઈશ.'

બા : 'અરે વાહ રે વાહ…. આજ સૂરજ કઈ દિશાથી ઊગ્યો છે ! તો પછી 50મી લગ્નતિથિએ શું કરશો ?'

છગનબાપુ : 'પાછો તને લેવા આવીશ…. ઠેઠ આંદમાન-નિકોબાર…'

એક માણસ ભગવાનને એકધારો પ્રાર્થના કર્યે જ જતો'તો. કંટાળીને ભગવાન પ્રગટ થયા : 'માગ…. તારે માગવી હોય તે મન્નત માગ….'

પેલો માણસ હાથ જોડીને કહે : 'ભગવાન મને પાછો કુંવારો બનાવી દો….'

ભગવાન : 'દીકરા મારા… મન્નત માગ, જન્નત નહીં….'
